Helps leaders and teams understand how they work, communicate, lead, and respond under pressure.

Lumina Learning is our primary psychometric platform. It helps leaders and teams understand how they work, communicate, lead, and respond under pressure. Rather than placing people in fixed categories, Lumina offers a dynamic picture of personality that helps people recognise their preferences, notice when strengths become overused, and make more intentional choices.

Lumina draws on established personality research, including the Big Five and Jungian traditions, while moving beyond the rigid labels common in many older assessments. It gives people practical language for understanding themselves and one another, strengthening communication, teamwork, leadership, and emotional intelligence.

How we use it

We use Lumina across all three pillars of our practice. In INpowered Leadership, tools such as Lumina Spark and Lumina Leader support self-awareness, coaching, and leadership development. In Leadership in Teams, Lumina Team gives teams a shared language for difference, communication, roles, decision-making, and working under pressure. In Leadership in Systems, Lumina can help leaders and groups identify recurring behavioural, relational, and cultural patterns so the conversation moves beyond individual style to examine the culture, assumptions, pressures, and power dynamics shaping everyday work.

Lumina also supports more thoughtful conversations about difference. Its practitioner resources help us consider the ways gendered expectations and neurodivergent experiences can shape leadership and workplace experience, without treating either as a fixed personality type. This is particularly relevant in our Women, Power and Leadership work, where voice, authority, identity, and power are central.

Lumina Team and team coaching

Lumina Team and team coaching complement one another, but they do different jobs. Lumina Team helps people understand preferences, strengths, pressure responses, and differences across the team. It creates shared language for communication, decisions, and collaboration.

Team coaching works with the team’s day-to-day dynamics over time, building the leadership, communication, and mutual-support practices needed to work through pressure, difficult moments, and places where the team remains stuck.

What this work enables

  • A clearer and more dynamic understanding of personality, leadership style, and pressure patterns.
  • More practical choice in how strengths are used, adapted, or overused in real work.
  • Better conversations within teams about difference, communication, role fit, and collaboration.
  • Stronger links between individual insight, team effectiveness, organisational culture, and systems dynamics.
  • More informed conversations about inclusion, including how gendered expectations and neurodivergent patterns can interact with leadership, power, and performance.
  • Development work that stays connected to real roles, relationships, and leadership demands.

What this can look like

  • A Lumina Spark debrief for an individual leader as part of coaching or leadership development.
  • A Lumina Leader process for a senior leader who wants a deeper understanding of their leadership style and how to adapt it to the needs of their people and organisation.
  • A Lumina Team session with a management team to surface patterns, strengthen communication, and improve how the team works together.
  • A broader team development, organisational development, or systems engagement that uses Lumina to build shared language, reveal the patterns at play, and support more intentional action.

Who this is for

  • Leaders who want a richer understanding of how they show up, lead, and respond under pressure.
  • Management and leadership teams that need a stronger shared language for difference, collaboration, and team dynamics.
  • Organisations that want a psychometric approach that supports leadership, teams, and systems rather than one-off personality typing.
  • Clients who want insight that can be turned into practical development, not just interesting information.
